Youth Programs had successful end of year for 2009/2010!

  • June 22nd, 2010

Re-LAY Program has successfully ended the 2009/2010 school year with a graduation ceremony on May 26th where parents, mentors, teachers and APDC staff had participated to celebrate the 19 kids that have worked hard throughout the school year.

Asian Youth Mentorship Program (AYMP) is at its end of 2009/2010 grant cycle on June 30, 2010 and beginning another year of 2010/2011 cycle on July 1, 2010. The program is having a end-of-year celebration ceremony on June 24, 2010 at Boondocks fun center. The students will be handed out certifications and will have a day of fun with the mentors.

We are also recruiting new mentors for the AYMP 2010/2011 cycle. For more information, contact Ge Thao: 720.921.5670.

In the Youth Strengthening Youth Program, we have completed the multi-month process of recruiting and interviewing possible new students for the program. Eight current students have been trained to take on leadership roles with those new students, who will attend our annual Summer Retreat. Those eight also play key roles in communicating with and building connections with the new students. We are also busy preparing for the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, in which we will enter two teams, a youth and an adult (for high school seniors and YSYP alumni.) The adult team is being organized entirely by two ex-YSYP students.
