Sexual Assault Prevention

The purpose of the Asian Youth Sexual Assault Prevention (AYSAP) team is to identify and prevent sexual assault among AA/PI youth.  The goals of our prevention team are:

  1. To understand our target population in order to identify risk and protective factors associated with sexual violence.
  2. To bring awareness into the community to develop a sense of responsibility.
  3. To provide advocacy related to these prevention efforts.

A comprehensive prevention program will be designed to increase education related to sexual assault within the AA/PI community.  The program will ultimately be designed by and for the community.  It will be specific to the needs of AA/PI youth and will be replicable for use with other youth groups within Adams County and elsewhere.  The community will be able to access the program resources and to use them as needed.
