Paths to Self-Sufficiency

The Paths to Self-Sufficiency is a program embedded within APDC’s Adult Education department. Funded through the Colorado Department of Education’s Adult Education and Literacy grant, the program is designed to provide the college and/or career competencies an adult learner of English would require to succeed in a post-secondary or workforce environment. With the majority of our learners representing the low-skilled members of the refugee and immigrant community, the mission behind this program is to provide an opportunity for the learner to build the skills they need to reach a place of self-sufficiency for themselves and for their family. Because this end goal may look different for every student, we work individually with each student to develop and continually refine personalized goal plans designed to assist and motivate them throughout their own unique path.
